I have developed a mobile game based on augmented reality. You can install the game for free from Google Play: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.BrightStars.TotalWar.
With the augmented reality technology the user will experience whole new dimensions in gaming and new ways of control. Just by moving slightly the device will change how the scene of the game is viewed making is perfect for a strategy game, a board game or a top down game.
The game is a mixture between a strategy and a tower defense game. You will need to create a base in under 3 minutes and defend it from an army of mechs and vanguard enemies. The next wave of attack will count more enemies and will come at shorter time than the previous wave. The goal of the game is to survive as long as you can. Eventually you will face too many enemies that will destroy your base.
There are some micro elements that make the game more interesting. You have to dodge incoming missiles that come from the mechs. Each missile hit will cause the camera to shake and will cost you some energy points. You can also shoot rockets at your enemies to have a better control of the fight.
For a better experience and to get used to the controls follow the inside tutorial.
In order to have the tracking of the augmented reality technology working you need to place your device parallel above a printed paper, preferably containing some large text. Then you can press the Top button and new dimensions will be revealed.
